AGRANA mass starches made either from potato or corn and either soluble in hot or cold water are all available. They serve as reinforcing agents or are used for fiber retention purposes and act to strengthen the paper.

Surface starches

AGRANA surface starches for size presses or similar applications are available in both hot and cold-water soluble forms and based on both potato and corn starches.

Starches for coating formulations

In this area, AGRANA offers modified starch ethers and esters made from potato or corn. These products are hot or cold water soluble, and are used for paper sizing or as a basis for coatings.
