For the pharmaceutical industry AGRANA offers the following starch products:

Dusting powder for medical latex products

AGENASORB

• cross-linked maize starch, which does not swell or agglutinate. Sterilizable without lumps
• approved by US FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA)
• applications: lubricant for dusting of examination and surgery gloves, condoms, etc.

AGRANA pharmaceutical starches follow the valid regulations of US PHARMACOPEIA (USP) and of the EUROPEAN PHARMACOPEIA (Ph.Eur.).

COSMETICS INDUSTRY

For the cosmetic industry AGRANA offers a wide range of modified starches derived from rice and maize.

The products for the cosmetic industry have been developed by Dr. Hauser GmbH. These products are used as antifungal base for baby powders, emulsions (creams, lotions), body- and foot powders, rouges, eye shadows and compact powders.

We offer the following products:

CORN PO4 PH "B"

• modified maize starch, boil-proofed, hydrophilic and absorbable, max. 6,0 % moisture content and low total plate count (max. 100 CFU/g)

• not allergen
• approved as “registered raw material – BDIH certified natural cosmetic”
• not subject to REACH-registration (polymer)
• applications: all-purpose as moisturizer in creams, lotions, pencils; gives a long-lasting silky feeling and a clear mattifying effect on the skin. Improves the quality of all loose and compact powders.

• absorbable dusting powder with low total plate count (max. 100 CFU/g)
• CAS-number: 55963-33-2 + 1309-48-4
• EINECS-number: 232-679-6 + 215-171-9
• applications: dusting powder for surgery gloves, condoms

RICE NS (ANM-RICE)

• cross-linked, non-swelling rice starch, boil-proofed, hydrophilic, with high absorption  strength, particle size between 7 – 11 micron diameter, limited water content of max.
  5,0 % and low total plate count (max. 100 CFU/g)
• INCI-name: Dimethylimidazolidinone Rice Starch
• CAS-number: 172275-79-5
• EINECS-number: 232-679-6
• applications: all types of emulsions as moisturizer, causes a clear mattifying effect and a very fine skin feeling. For quality improvement of loose and compact powders.
